There are good and bad things, these are the types of foods that contain fat

Fast food is a food that contains bad fats

For some people, the word fat is synonymous with obesity, obesity, or other health disorders. In fact, fat is one of the compounds that help the body in processing vitamins and keep the skin healthy.

Fat is also a way for the body to store energy and heat, protect the body, and maintain bone and nerve function. Some types of fats can be found in foods that contain fats, namely saturated fats, unsaturated fats, and trans fats.

Good fats vs. Bad fats

Not all fats are bad for the body, and vice versa, not all fats are good for the body. Some fats are healthier than others. Fats known as good fats are unsaturated fats that can increase HDL cholesterol levels which is beneficial in maintaining heart health.

While fats that are best avoided are saturated fats and trans fats. Both of these fats can cause an increase in LDL cholesterol known as bad cholesterol. The higher the LDL cholesterol level in the body, the higher the risk of a person being exposed to various dangerous diseases.

1. Saturated fats

Saturated fats are solid fatty acids that form at room temperature. Because of this, saturated fat is also often referred to as solid fat.

In the long run, the accumulation of saturated fat in the body can increase the risk of dangerous diseases, such as cardiovascular disease and stroke.

2. Unsaturated fats

Unsaturated fats are usually in liquid form at room temperature and are mostly produced by plant oils. Consumption of unsaturated fats will be able to increase blood HDL cholesterol which is good for health.

The types of unsaturated fats are:

Monounsaturated fat is a type of fat that can lower LDL levels so it is beneficial to lower the risk of heart disease.

Polyunsaturated fat is an excellent type of fat for health. Double unsaturated fats consist of omega-3 fats derived from fish and fish oil. While omega-6 fats can be found in some types of vegetable oils.

3. Trans fats

Trans fats are a type of fat that is added in addition to industrial products, such as cooking oil. The purpose of adding fat is to make the product thicker or denser.

Trans fats have no benefits for the body and instead have a negative impact on health. These fats can increase the level of bad cholesterol (LDL) in the blood and lower the level of good cholesterol (HDL) thus potentially increasing the risk of heart disease, stroke, and type 2 diabetes.
