Diet, diet, diet ... This word keeps us awake with words, it is associated with millions of sacrifices and constant starvation. However, it does not have to be this way. Diet is also a lifestyle, a way of eating.
Check the ranking of the most popular diets prepared by me and find the best one for you.
There are many diets on the Internet, unfortunately not all of them are effective. Often, too much information about how we should eat gives us a headache. For this reason, I decided to prepare a very short, but transparent ranking of the five most popular diets and present you with a few sentences their advantages and disadvantages and how they should be used.
Each diet is rated under its name (range from 1 to 10). The following features were taken into account: effectiveness, difficulty in applying and speed of effects.
PALEOLYTIC DIET
Rating: 7/10
The Paleolithic diet is about mimicking the diet of our ancestors who ate only what they could hunt or harvest. Several meals a week are allowed which do not adhere to this rule.
Benefits:
1- It rules out highly processed foods being the main culprit of obesity.
2- Provides quick and permanent weight reduction.
3- Provides a large amount of vegetables, seeds and fruit.
4- It does not require tedious calorie conversion.
Disadvantages:
1- A very high price of natural food and a problem in getting food.
2- Excludes grain products and dairy products.
DUKAN'S DIET
Rating: 4/10
The diet is divided into 4 stages. The Dukan diet consists in consuming only protein products in individual phases, with the subsequent possibility of diversifying the menu.
Benefits:
1- Very fast weight loss, unlimited food.
2- Consuming plenty of water.
Disadvantages:
1- Lots of side effects, probability of kidney and liver damage
2- It requires a lot of sacrifice
3- Too fast weight reduction
See more information on the advantages and disadvantages of a protein diet.
Summary:
The Dukan diet is not a currently recommended diet. It requires many sacrifices, and after its completion, we risk a quick return to the previous weight. In my opinion, there are many other safer diets, which is why this one gets a very low rating.
ATKINSA DIET
Rating: 6/10
It involves limiting carbohydrate intake and putting the body into a state of ketosis, during which it starts using fat as a source of energy. Only minimal doses of sugars are allowed (up to 20 g at the beginning), which should be kept at the level of 80-120 g throughout life.

Benefits:
1- The diet excludes processed products, refined sugar and any sweets.
2- A large amount of fiber and vitamins, due to the high consumption of vegetables.
3- Fast weight reduction.
Disadvantages:
1- Lots of side effects (similar to Dukan's diet).
2- Carbohydrate restriction, which may not be feasible for some.
3- It requires huge sacrifices.
Summary:
A good way to lose weight quickly, but at the cost of many dangerous side effects. Skillfully used, it allows you to stay slim throughout your life and enjoy a beautiful body. It also allows you to eat large amounts of fats. It requires tremendous motivation and perseverance throughout life.
MONTIGNACA DIET
Grade: 9.5 / 10
In my opinion, it is definitely the best diet among all diets. It assumes the consumption of products with the lowest glycemic index. It consists of two phases, the first one consumes only products with an index below 50, the next - which lasts a lifetime - involves consuming products with an index below 80.
Benefits:
1- It prevents blood sugar spikes, and thus the feeling of constant hunger.
2- Recommended for people with diabetes and problems with wolf hunger. It works pro-health.
3- It does not require counting calories, it ensures a quick reduction of extra kilos and a healthy figure.
4- She recommends eating unsaturated fats.
Disadvantages:
1- Initial checking the glycemic index of individual products is cumbersome.
2- There may be side effects.
3- Restricting certain vegetables and fruits that are essential for their vitamin and mineral content.
Summary:
When used skillfully, it is a great way to protect yourself from diabetes and spikes in insulin levels. When using it, we feel light and we do not have hunger pangs. The diet excludes processed, harmful products, so we can easily use it throughout our lives, introducing fruits or vegetables with a higher glycemic index from time to time.
COPENHAGEN DIET
Rating: 2/10
It is a very rigorous way to lose weight, it consists in eating monotonous meals for 13 days to speed up the metabolism and cause you to lose kilos quickly. The diet can be used no more than once every two years.
Benefits:
1- Quick weight reduction (although often, it's mainly water)
2- Acceleration of metabolism.
Disadvantages:
1- an onoton, often incomprehensible menu (such as a cup of coffee in the morning, a sugar cube), which does not provide all the nutrients and irritates the stomach.
2- Lots of side effects, ranging from constipation and abdominal pain to feeling unwell and weak.
3- Diet only for people with minimal physical and mental activity (it offers approx. 500 - 800 kcal per day)
4- Yo-yo effect guaranteed.
However, these are not all the pros and cons of the Copenhagen diet. See more.
Summary:
This is one of the most dangerous diets, so I honestly advise against using it. Instead of supporting metabolism, it can harm us for life. It definitely cannot be used by people practicing any sport, sick, weak and malnourished. It requires huge sacrifices, and even small deviations, such as eating a cookie or a chip, make it necessary to stop it.
In conclusion, the best diet is a balanced diet that we can follow throughout our lives. This is what the Montagne Diet, which won the ranking, seems to be. It does not require a million sacrifices and does not anticipate the yo-yo effect. You can adjust each diet to yourself as much as possible, but you should remember to check your health condition, both before, during and after each of them.
